Active Investigations Underway

Moscow Police Department officers responded to 20 calls for service on July 13, 2026, including several incidents requiring follow-up investigation. Among the more serious cases, a burglary was reported at the 400 block of South Almon Street when an intruder entered an occupied apartment during a resident’s shower and made threats. Officers took a report and the case remains under active investigation.

A custodial interference complaint was also filed at the 500 block of Indian Hills Drive after a child was not returned as scheduled and a female refused to comply with return requirements. That case, too, is listed as active.

A non-injury dog bite incident at the 200 block of Lauder Avenue resulted in a victim being bitten multiple times. Emergency Medical Services responded along with police. The case is marked active.

Traffic and Property Incidents

Moscow police documented three non-injury traffic accidents on the day. One occurred at South Blaine Street and Troy Road; a second at the 300 block of South Main Street; and a third at the 700 block of South Harrison Street. In the Harrison Street case, officers were unable to contact the involved parties despite a third-party report of the collision. All three remain open pending further information or contact.

A fourth traffic incident—a non-injury accident at East 6th Street and South Washington Street involving a vehicle door that opened and caused fender damage—is also under active investigation.

Officers responded to a traffic violation involving a semi truck with a white “Premier” tractor that was observed swerving on North Main Street and Rodeo Drive, though no formal report was filed and the case was closed. A traffic hazard was also reported at Lathen Street and South Main Street near Rosauers; officers responded but took no report.

A theft was reported at the 300 block of Veatch Street. Officers took a report and the investigation is active.

Welfare and Disturbances

A welfare check at the 200 block of Farm Road led officers and EMS to respond after a subject was found to be absent from a treatment facility for one week. During that response, a dog was impounded and the case was closed.

Police received two harassment complaints tied to the same location—the 400 block of South Polk Street. One involved a resident who reported that tires on a vehicle had been punctured with nails five times over a two-month span. Officers took a report. A second harassment incident at the same address involved the counterclaimant denying the nail-puncture accusations; officers advised both parties and closed the matter.

Online stalking by an ex-boyfriend was reported at the 400 block of South Asbury Street. An officer made contact with the involved parties, though no formal report was filed and the case was closed.

A suspicious person call at the 900 block of North Jefferson Street involved a male who claimed to be performing fiber optics work and requested water. Officers determined there was no visible work truck or company markings and closed the case.

Officers also conducted a civil standby for a firearm pickup and transfer at the 800 block of Bitterroot Street. No report was filed.

Parking and Administrative Matters

An illegally parked camper at the 300 block of North Main Street in the Culligan back lot was noted by officers, who advised the owner. A Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) inspection was conducted on an orange 2001 Harley Davidson motorcycle at South Harrison Street and Veatch Street.
