Daily Activity Log Reflects Mix of Property, Traffic, and Welfare Concerns
Moscow Police Department officers responded to 17 incidents on July 8, 2026, ranging from burglary calls and suspicious activity reports to traffic violations and welfare checks across the city.
The busiest period for calls came during the early morning hours, with a noise complaint at 1:30 AM on South Grant Street involving loud amplified radio lasting approximately 30 minutes. Officers responded but filed no report. The same location had generated at least one prior noise complaint.
Officers also handled multiple alarm calls during the day. A burglary alarm triggered at the 700 block of East B Street when a backdoor sensor activated; officers responded and cleared the scene. A separate burglary call came in from the 1100 block of West A Street, with officers responding but determining no report was necessary.
Warrant Arrest and Theft Investigation
A 40-year-old male was arrested on an outstanding warrant at the Walmart location in the 2400 block of West Pullman Road. Officers also cleared a theft report from the Light Cast business at the 200 block of North Almon Street.
A suspicious person call at the 100 block of East Fourth Street concerned a dog whining in the area; officers responded and found no criminal activity. Latah County Sheriff’s Office requested Moscow Police assistance at the 1700 block of Carmichael Road when a dementia resident reported seeing intruders on the property. Officers responded and provided advice.
Traffic and Parking Violations
Officers cleared a parking problem at the West A Street and Peterson Drive transit bus stop, where two to three vehicles were blocking the bus loading area. A traffic violation was reported at the North Lieuallen Street and West A Street intersection; no report was filed.
A non-injury traffic accident occurred at the 400 block of South Main Street near HyperSpud, where one vehicle backed into another. Officers responded to document the incident.
Two separate traffic-related calls also came in: officers were dispatched to South Main Street and Troy Road when an oversized white semi truck was observed spilling gasoline; the vehicle was stopped on Sweet Avenue. A traffic light malfunction was reported at South Washington Street and Troy Road.
Welfare and Welfare-Related Calls
Officers cleared a welfare check at the 200 block of Farm Road. At the same location, officers responded to a report of a male passed out in a running vehicle and resolved the situation.
A vague 911 call came in from the 700 block of Lewis Street; the caller refused to provide identifying information, but officers still responded to the location.
Other Reports
A suspicious unattended vehicle was reported at East Palouse River Drive and Paradise Ridge Road; the incident was cleared. A harassment complaint at the 1100 block of North Polk Street was resolved, as was a wanted person sighting reported at the 2000 block of White Avenue. The latter involved an individual on a bicycle observed with two other people, one wearing an orange hat. A harassment and stalking complaint was filed by a person who came directly to the Moscow Police Department lobby at the 1700 block of East F Street.
