Idaho Golfers Place 11th at Oregon State Invitational

The University of Idaho men’s golf team finished in 11th place at the OSU Invitational, competing against a field of collegiate programs at Trysting Tree Golf Course in Corvallis, Oregon. The Vandals posted a cumulative three-round score of 284-284-288, finishing four strokes over par for the tournament.

Henrik Koglin led the Idaho squad with the lowest individual total, carding rounds of 73-70-70 to finish at 204, two strokes under par. Carter Frisby matched even par for the event with scores of 70-70-73.

Charley Simpson finished three strokes over par with rounds of 71-71-74. Brae Rogalczyk and Ben Buchanan each posted five-over-par totals; Rogalczyk shot 72-73-73, while Buchanan carded 71-73-74.

Jacob Vasquez competed as an individual in his first tournament of the season. He finished seven strokes over par with rounds of 72-73-75.

Head Coach David Nuhn highlighted the team’s performance on the demanding layout, noting improvements in ball striking and driving accuracy compared to their previous outing. “I’m proud of the guy’s resilience this week at the challenging Trysting Tree golf course,” Nuhn said. “It’s a longer test of golf, and I thought we hit a lot of quality mid irons, as well as got off the tee box a little bit better than we had done last week.”

The Vandals will return to competition next week for the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational. The team is scheduled to play at The Reserve at Spanos Park in Stockton, California, on October 12 and 13.
