Young performers trained in aerial arts will take the stage at Moscow’s Hartung Theater later this month when the University of Idaho Department of Theatre Arts hosts its second annual Aerial Arts Summer Camp Showcase.
Campers ranging in age from 7 to 18 will perform their newly acquired skills during two public shows — Friday, June 26 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, June 27 at 2 p.m.
Throughout the camp, participants received instruction from Theatre Arts faculty alongside aerialists from Gem State Flyers. The training focused on aerial silks, slings, and hoops — disciplines that demand physical coordination and artistic expression in equal measure.
Organizers say the program is designed to build confidence, physical strength, and creativity in young participants. The showcase gives campers a chance to demonstrate what they have learned in front of a live audience, providing a meaningful performance experience alongside the physical training.
The Aerial Arts Summer Camp Showcase is free and open to the public. Both performances will be held at Hartung Theater on the University of Idaho campus in Moscow.
