Moscow Opens Mural Submissions for East City Park Stage

The City of Moscow has opened applications for artists to design a mural on the new stage structure at East City Park. The Moscow Arts Commission and city officials announced the call for submissions, inviting individual creators and teams to apply.

Artists must submit their qualifications and examples of previous mural work by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, November 17, 2026. The selected artwork will be painted on the exterior walls of the new stage and the adjoining restroom facility at 900 E 3rd St.

Construction of the replacement stage is scheduled for the 2026-2027 period. The site holds historical significance for the community; volunteers built the original stage structure in 1983.

The Moscow City Council approved the project theme developed by the Arts Commission. To guide the creative direction, Moscow Poet Laureate Miriam Akervall composed a poem based on citizen stories. This literary work is intended to inform the muralist’s artistic choices for the public space.
