The September 12 matchup carries added significance, as the home opener coincides with the university’s Hall of Fame induction weekend. All nine of the Vandals’ nationally and regionally televised games this season will air on SWX Sports, reaching viewers across north Idaho and eastern Washington.

Washington State Adds Texas Baseball Graduate to Coaching Staff
Washington State University baseball announced the addition of Kimble Schuessler to the coaching staff on Wednesday. Schuessler, who served as a graduate assistant at the University of Texas last season, will work with the Cougars’ outfielders, coach first base, and assist with hitting instruction under head coach Nathan Choate.
Schuessler, a native of Llano, Texas, compiled a strong playing record during his time at Texas. Over his college career, which spanned 2022, 2024, and 2025, Schuessler appeared in 131 games, recording 141 hits, 30 doubles, and 19 home runs while driving in 82 runs. His defensive prowess earned him two All-Regional team selections and a spot on the SEC All-Defensive team as a senior.
The hire reflects the Cougars’ effort to strengthen their coaching roster with experienced former players who understand the program’s standards and competitive environment.
