Judge Steven Hippler has scheduled a Dec. 10 hearing on Bryan Kohberger’s requests for post-conviction relief and a new judge.
Kohberger is accused of killing four University of Idaho students in November 2022: Ethan Chapin, Xana Kernodle, Madison Mogen and Kaylee Goncalves.
He is seeking to withdraw from the plea deal that helped him avoid the death penalty and pursue a trial. Kohberger was sentenced in 2025 to four consecutive life sentences for the students’ stabbing deaths.
A filing has moved the case timeline into August 2027.
