Moscow Police Respond to Burglary, Weapons Complaint, and Assorted Calls Across the City on June 9

Moscow Police handled more than two dozen calls for service on Monday, June 9, 2026, ranging from a residential burglary that may have unfolded over several days to a weapons complaint, a controlled substance report, and a pair of noise complaints — one involving wind chimes, one involving bongo drums.

Overnight Agency Assists and an Early Morning Burglary

The day’s activity started before dawn. Just after 1:20 a.m., Moscow officers responded to a request from the Latah County Sheriff’s Office at a location on Tomer Road. A reporting party had asked to meet with law enforcement at the Dollar Tree. That call was closed without further action.

Roughly two hours later, at 3:37 a.m., officers again assisted the sheriff’s office — this time responding to a reported burglary in progress on Fir Street in Potlatch. Officers responded alongside LCSO, and the call was ultimately closed.

The morning hours brought a found property report near Rosauers on North Main Street, a welfare check at the Wendy’s restaurant on West Pullman Road, and two separate traffic hazard calls — one near East 3rd Street and Mountain View Road, where a construction crew was reportedly blocking a fire lane, and another at the intersection of West Pullman Road and Perimeter Drive.

Afternoon Brings Burglary, Weapons Complaint, and Eviction Concerns

The most significant incident of the day came around midday, when police took a report of a residential burglary on Joseph Street. According to the log, the home had apparently been broken into over a period of multiple days, and possible suspects had been identified. Officers filed a report and the case remained active.

Around the same time, a caller on Creekside Lane reported concerns about a potential eviction — a call that came in twice, at 11:02 a.m. and again at 12:31 p.m. Both calls were closed by officers without further action. A separate found persons incident was logged at the Taj Grocery on West 3rd Street just before 1:00 p.m.

A vehicle identification number inspection was requested on South Meadow Street shortly before 1:00 p.m., with the reporting party seeking to license a white and blue ATV. A non-injury traffic accident was reported at The Coop on Washington near East 5th Street just after 2:30 p.m.

At 2:35 p.m., a weapons offense or complaint was logged on South Grant Street. Details on the nature of the incident were not included in the log. A civil dispute was also reported on Baker Street around the same time.

The afternoon brought additional calls including a theft — location listed only as Moscow — reported at 4:32 p.m., and a controlled substance complaint on Indian Hills Drive shortly after 5:00 p.m.

Evening Calls Include Wind Chime Dispute and Late-Night Alarm

The evening produced a somewhat unusual sequence of calls. Just after 8:00 p.m., a resident on South Cleveland Street contacted police with a civil inquiry, asking about the legal options available for forcing a neighbor to remove wind chimes. Less than an hour and a half later, a separate caller at the same block reported the wind chimes as a noise complaint.

At the same time — 9:29 p.m. — a noise complaint was filed near the intersection of Styner Avenue and Troy Road, where a caller reported hearing bongo drum sounds coming from an underpass for several hours.

The final entry in the log was a burglary or intrusion alarm reported at a location on Levick Street just after 9:00 p.m.

What Comes Next

Several calls from June 9 remained listed as active in the log at the time of publication, including the Joseph Street burglary, the weapons complaint on South Grant Street, the controlled substance report on Indian Hills Drive, and the late-night alarm on Levick Street.
